Maynard’s beautiful gold 1928 Monette trumpet – He loved this horn. He played it on his final tour and used it for his last studio recording “The One and Only”. The last time that he used this horn was when he played “Taps” for his cat, just 4 days before he passed away. The mouthpiece is with the horn.

Brass Baritone – Maynard playing Baritone Horn on-stage always surprised the audience.
It was one of the pieces of a great show that made him an entertainer.

Brass Holton Superbone – This superbone saw a lot of touring, as you can see by the silver duct tape holding the slide together. Maynard just forgot to send it for repair, and it was found in the back of the garage with a newspaper inside the case. The headline of the newspaper read “Lennon Killer Charged”.

Brass Yanigasawa soprano sax Maynard loved to play a variety of instruments. He loved having them all on stage with him and changing from one to another. The Soprano Sax was always a surprise for the audience and one of his favorite changeups.
Silver Pocket Trumpet– The Pocket Trumpet was a novelty that really made Maynard laugh. He loved to see the astounded faces when they heard the sound he could pull from this tiny instrument.
Silver Holton Baritone
Silver Holton Firebird The Firebird was a unique slide-valve trumpet created by the design genius’ at Holton Leblanc together with Maynard’s enthusiastic vision in the 1970’s. Maynard played these regularly throughout the rest of his career.

Silver Holton Valve Trombone Silver MF Horn The case was autographed by Maynard and the band members in the mid-70s. Autographs include Denis DiBlasio, Stan Mark, and others of that era.
