The LPs in this room represent the period of the ‘30s and ‘40s when swing jazz was popular, and people went out to dance and dine. This was the WWII era, and the murals pay homage to a USO military hangar dance with the Tommy Dorsey Band. Frank Sinatra was Dorsey’s singer, and Buddy Rich was his drummer. The portraits were chosen because these musicians represented the better musicians of their day and offered significant musical contributions to jazz. The parachutes in this room are WWII British cargo parachutes. Portrait paintings by Mrs. Pat Pierce, murals by Scott Tucker, Melissa Tucker, and Scott Tucker, Jr.
